We are a family-run business, founded in 1980 by Brent Hoover, an engineer with a background in construction and landscaping. He leads the Hoover team fueled by his passion to create effective irrigation tools to sustain Florida landscapes.

The Hoover pump station has always been renowned for quality and reliability. We’ve now expanded our reach with Hoover’s remote access and control of both the pump station and irrigation system, combining two dynamic systems that can be viewed and controlled together for the first time.

The Hoover team pushes beyond the status quo as we continually fine tune existing products and actively survey our customers about their irrigation and water source problems. We consistently create innovative ways to overcome these challenges and envision future products and solutions. This has always been our method and is at the center of Hoover’s values.

1979 The idea of better pumping was born, leading to the founding of Hoover Irrigation Corporation (HIC).

1980

1980
1981 In-house designed Self-Diagnostic Irrigation Pump System introduced.
1982 Engineered Suction Intake Assembly introduced.
1983 Hoover Irrigation Turnkey Field Pump Station Installation launched.
1987 Hoover Pumping designs Version 1 Flow-Controlled Pumping Station. Extensive industry search begins for a user-friendly, proactive remote irrigation system to help service providers manage irrigation efficiently and cost-effectively.
1988 Hoover became Southeast US representative for Aquametrics, an innovative moisture-sensing, remote-wired access irrigation controller manufactured by Honeywell Corp—15 years ahead of the competition.

1991 Hoover Pumping Station Maintenance Program introduced.
1992 Purchased all Aquametrics assets from Honeywell. Educational CEU Pump Station classes launched for Landscape Architects.
1994 Accelerated R&D for wired remote control access of pumping systems.
1998 Hoover Flow Controller Version 2 introduces wired remote access.

2000 Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Flow-Controlled Pump Station introduced—a major advancement in energy efficiency.
2001 Pump station customer training program launched.
2002 Manufacturing capacity doubled with expanded Pompano Beach facility.
2003 First-generation Flowguard (FG1) wireless remote pump control system launched.
2004 Positive Buoyancy HDPE Engineered Suction Intake Assembly introduced.
2006 Second-generation Flowguard (FG2) wireless remote pump control system launched with expanded functionality and cutting-edge remote access. Manufacturing capacity expanded to 20,000 sq ft.

2010

2010
2016 Third-generation Flowguard (FG3) wireless remote pump control system launched.
2018 Hoover Irrigation controllers (multi-wire and two-wire) launched, creating single-platform integration between water source and field irrigation controls. Beta test projects confirm a new way to manage irrigation has arrived.
2019 Full launch of Hoover's Intelligent Remote Irrigation Management System (HIRIMS) across Florida for renovation and new construction projects. Cloud-based central control with automated zone-level reporting offers capabilities no other system can replicate.

2020 Hoover irrigation controllers become the specified standard for several of Florida's top developers in large-scale communities.

Now this system starts to isolate what's wrong. It's just wonderful.
